Ofala is conjure of two different Igbo words Ofo (Symbol Of Authority) and Ala (Land). Ofo is the central symbol of Igbo spirituality. It is a sacred staff of authority, and an emblem symbolizing the links between Chukwu Okike (the Creator of all) and man, the dead and the living, the living and the unborn.Ofo symbolizes justice, righteousness, and truth. It plays many important roles in the social, political, and spiritual life of the Igbo. No serious rite of ceremony can be performed without Ofo.Ofala is the authority that governs the land of a community. Its festival (renewal) is for the traditional rulers only. It is normally done twice in a life time of a King ,after the coronation day and after the death of the King, which generally known as “The last Ofala” but since the Iconoclasm of the early Christians in Igbo land, Ofala festival has turned to an annual event in the most communities,
